The ‘Beyond’ Trilogy July 2016 Newsletter

J. Winfield Currie: A Colorful Author with a Fresh, New Voice

One of our most celebrated holidays is almost here! Did you know that Congress never declared July 4th as a national holiday until almost one hundred years after the Declaration of Independence was written?

One of my more meaningful, and favorite, ‘Tid-Bits’ from Beyond the Horizon came to mind the other day, and I’ve decided to share it with you.

Grabbed by his shoulder and flung over onto his back, the bully gasped at the impressive figure confronting him. Although somewhat older, he was in no way diminished in stature. Colonel Jason William Tarrington stood silently glaring down at him with icy, blue eyes.

He will kill me without thought or regret he realized, and trembled, much to his embarrassment. He had been no more than a green lad at the battle for Charleston, and by nothing short of a miracle, had escaped with his life that day. He would never forget this man: the demon of his nightmares for many long months after the battle … and still now … upon occasion.

Thinking of the past, some of you may remember my first ‘Beyond’ Trilogy Newsletters, all created with Microsoft Publisher in my pre-Word Press days. Have you ever ‘itched’ to look them over again to see if my original concept has changed much … or have I? Whether you have or not, I have. So let’s scratch that itch! Browse through ALL or some of them from time to time and enjoy reliving our past.

Have a happy and safe holiday.

Until next month, Joan
